Spider-Man 2 incorporates a touching tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, celebrated for his portrayal of the Black Panther. The tribute includes an Easter egg where the player can approach the Wakandan Embassy in the Midtown district, previously introduced in past Spider-Man games. As Miles, the player is prompted to press 'Honor', thereby performing the iconic 'Wakanda Forever' gesture. This brief yet impactful interaction is not the first time Insomniac Games have commemorated Boseman. After the actor's unfortunate passing in 2020, Spider-Man: Miles Morales named 42nd Street "Chadwick Way", referencing Boseman's role in the film 42, and inserted a heartfelt memoriam in the credits, "In loving memory of a noble king, Chadwick Boseman. His honor, strength, and compassion will reverberate for generations to come. Wakanda Forever." Spider-Man 2 is now available on PS5, and IGN rates the game 8/10, affirming that despite a rather bland open world, it showcases Insomniac's best storytelling yet, offering a thrilling superhero journey.
