Microsoft revealed a first glimpse at the new island activity in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, a popular video game by RGG Studio, in a recent trailer from the Xbox Partner preview broadcast. Added to the game is a build-your-own resort mode, enabling players to manage Dondoko Island and engage in various activities. This new feature is unlocked through a side-story available from Chapter 6 of the game.
The Chief Producer of RGG Studio, Hiroyuki Sakamoto, on Xbox Wire confirmed that Dondoko Island is separate from the main story, allowing players to explore at their own pace. The game will introduce various mini-games like Crazy Delivery, Sujimon Battle, where players collect enemies and battle them via a dating app to find a match.
The sequel features returning protagonist Ichiban Kasuga journeying to Hawaii for more mini-games, karaoke, and tussles with local gangsters. The brand-new environment is reportedly three times larger than the Yokohama map from Yakuza: Like a Dragon released in 2020. The upcoming game will be released on January 26, 2024.
Meanwhile, Sega is set to release Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, a prequel beginning with series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu on November 9 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
