Two years after announcing its entry into the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) market, Intel has now launched another addition to its Arc series - the Arc A580 graphics card. Aimed at providing gamers with an enhanced experience, the new GPU is made available through major retailers in the U.S., China, and Europe.

The Arc A580 is a competitively priced desktop graphics card, selling at $179, boasting 24 Xe cores and 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Despite its low price, critics believe it to be a powerful choice amongst budget GPUs. According to Tom's Hardware, in terms of speed, the Arc A580 outperforms its closest rival - AMD's Radeon RX 6600. However, the RX 6600 takes the upper hand in rasterization.

Fans and critics alike were surprised at the launch of this Intel GPU, considering that information about its release was missing when the company unveiled its first series of desktop GPUs last year. Although it's been a year since the announcement, the Arc A580 cannot compete with high-performing GPUs like AMD's RX 7000 series or Nvidia's RTX 40 series.

However, Intel maintains that they're in the GPU market for the long haul, with at least three more GPU generations in the pipeline, named "Battlemage", "Celestial", and "Druid". The Arc A580 will be manufactured by GUNNIR, ASRock, and SPARKLE under the Intel brand.
