James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, confirmed that Superman and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow are the only two DCU films currently in production. Superman is set for a July 11, 2025, release. Additionally, Peacemaker Season 2, Lanterns, and several animated projects including Creature Commandos are actively being produced. Projects like Paradise Lost, Waller, Booster Gold, and others are in active development but not yet greenlit. Gunn emphasized that nothing moves into production without finalized and approved scripts. The headliner for the DCU is Superman, featuring David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, with other characters set to appear across multiple DCU projects.

Which DCU projects are currently in production?

Currently, Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Peacemaker Season 2, Lanterns, and Creature Commandos are in production. Other projects are in active development but haven't been greenlit yet.

The Superman film, being the central focus of the DCU, promises a fresh take on the iconic superhero. David Corenswet will take on the role of Superman and Rachel Brosnahan will play Lois Lane.
