James Gunn teases more games after Suicide Squad in Arkham-verse
Dec 18, 2023 5:15 PMRocksteady's upcoming title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, is confirmed not to be the last game set in the Arkham universe. James Gunn, who oversees the DC film universe, has expressed on social media platform Threads that he's a big fan of the Arkham games and wants the universe to continue. While his post has been deleted, his support for the Arkham Verse remains clear. Players can look forward to transferring control between members of the Suicide Squad to save Metropolis from Brainiac's control over iconic superheroes like Superman and Batman. Although the game received criticism for its live-service elements, it is scheduled for release on February 2, 2024, on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 and will require an initial internet connection to play, which might be removed post-release through an update.

Rocksteady is keeping the momentum going with what looks to be another action-packed addition to the Arkham universe; the buzz around Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is real, even if the live-service aspect is raising some eyebrows. It's cool to see James Gunn giving props to the games, and hopefully, that means we'll see more synergy between the film and gaming narratives in the DC world.
