"Seinfeld", one of the most influential sitcoms of the 90s, may be making a comeback, according to a tease from Jerry Seinfeld via an Instagram post.
At his standup show in Boston, he was asked about the show's controversial finale, to which he hinted about something coming up related to it, but didn't divulge much due to its 'secret' nature.
"Seinfeld", co-created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, is known as "a show about nothing". Despite its significant popularity, the two-part finale, which saw the main characters jailed, disappointed many fans.
Now, hints from Seinfeld suggest something related to the ending; this could potentially pave the way for a reunion or a continuation involving the original cast, which includes Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards. But, this isn't confirmed yet, so we'll have to await further information.
Even with its unexpected ending, the sitcom gained commendable recognition. IGN readers voted "Seinfeld" as the fifth best TV show ever, only behind "Breaking Bad", "Game of Thrones", "The Sopranos", and "The Simpsons". While IGN's own list ranks it 15, it was also mentioned among the most outrageous series finales in TV history.
So for those in waiting, Seinfeld's cryptic response gave a glimmer of hope for more. But until then, all we can do is wait and see what unravels next.
