June release for The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road

Jan 19, 2024 1:55 PM

Zenimax Online Studios is set to release a new expansion for the popular MMO The Elder Scrolls Online, titled Gold Road, in June. This expansion pack will be available on PC and Mac on June 3, and on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on June 18. Gold Road takes players to the West Weald region of Cyrodiil, featuring the city of Skingrad, and includes three distinct areas: the lush forests of Gold Road, the jungles of Valenwood Annexation, and the Colovian Highlands. Gamers can look forward to engaging in a fresh narrative, undertaking new quests, and interacting with a newly introduced faction called Recollection.

Among the features in the Gold Road expansion is a Scribing system that allows players to collect and customize unique skills dubbed Grimoires, providing fresh gameplay opportunities for those already familiar with their character builds. Furthermore, a twelve-player trial called Lucent Citadel will be introduced. The expansion is priced at 40 euros.

Prior to the release of Gold Road, The Elder Scrolls Online will receive the DLC pack The Scrions of Ithelia, which debuts on March 11 for PC and Mac, and March 26 for Xbox and PlayStation platforms. This DLC includes two new dungeons—Oatshworn Pit and Bedlam Veil—and continues the story from last year's Necrom Chapter, serving as a prelude to the events in Gold Road. The Elder Scrolls Online has reached an impressive 24 million players, indicating a strong and growing community.

When can players start experiencing the new content in The Elder Scrolls Online?

The Scrions of Ithelia DLC will be available on March 11 for PC and Mac, March 26 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and the Gold Road expansion will release on June 3 for PC and Mac and on June 18 for PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

The Elder Scrolls Online is an expansive MMO that's part of the larger Elder Scrolls franchise, known for its rich single-player RPGs like Skyrim and Oblivion. Since its original release in 2014, the game has seen multiple expansions, like Morrowind and Summerset, continually expanding the in-game universe and lore. This approach keeps the community engaged with a constant stream of new content, gameplay mechanics, and storylines. The addition of the Gold Road expansion promises to continue this tradition, offering new challenges and narratives for players to explore.

ESO's trip down Gold Road is shaping up to be a lush, narrative-driven jaunt through familiar but unexplored territory, and the idea of customizing skills with the new Scribing system should add some juicy depth to character personalization. I'm stoked to see how the Recollection faction spices up the already rich lore, and with the player base still growing strong, the hype for the Skingrad soiree feels pretty justified
