Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, set to launch this week, is revealed to have a number of issues by the creator, Konami, who has declared their intentions to address these problems post-launch. The issues range from mismatching subtitle and audio timing in the bonus content videos of the Metal Gear and Snake's Revenge NES ports, to a significant slowdown in specific cutscenes in MGS 2. Plans are indicated for future patches to resolve these problems, and in addition, new visual options, such as a CRT scanline filter and pixel aspect ratio adjustments, and the capability to toggle between windowed and full-screen mode, are expected.
Other concerns exist across MGS 1, 2, and 3, and these will be rectified with forthcoming bug fixes. Moreover, errors in the subtitles of original England, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain (EFIGS) EU versions, in MGS3, also need to be addressed. This master collection is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 24. However, there is a requirement for PC gamers to use a controller for Metal Gear Solid 1 as it doesn't support keyboard and mouse play. Criticisms have also been made about the frame rate for Metal Gear Solid 1 being limited to 30 frames per second.
