The game director, Jiwon Choi, announced that players can now access the DLC from Chapter 5 instead of the previous Chapter 9 during their second playthrough. Additionally, the update introduces difficulty reductions for repeat playthroughs, adjusting monster stats to facilitate smoother gameplay. The patch also brings easier difficulty options and resolves several bugs, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Notably, Lies of P has surpassed 3 million copies sold, bolstered by the popularity of the Overture DLC, which was released unexpectedly during this year’s Summer Game Fest.

What improvements have been made in Lies of P's Overture DLC update?

The update for Lies of P's Overture DLC includes earlier access to the content from Chapter 5 on the second playthrough, reduced monster difficulty for repeat playthroughs, and new difficulty options for the base game. This makes it easier for players to enjoy the content without excessive challenge.

Lies of P is a unique action RPG that reimagines the classic tale of Pinocchio in a dark, Belle Époque-inspired world. Smart move letting players jump into the DLC earlier—Chapter 5 is way less of a grind than waiting for Chapter 9. Also, props to the devs for fine-tuning difficulty without watering down that satisfying Souls-like challenge. (And congrats on 3 million—guess puppet suffering is more popular than we thought)

Nice to see Lies of P embracing accessibility without losing its Souls-like edge—earlier DLC access and tweaked difficulty options strike a great balance for both new and returning players. Hitting 3 million sales is no surprise; this dark Pinocchio twist clearly struck a chord with fans.
