"Like a Dragon Gaiden was developed in six months"
Nov 03, 2023 5:15 PMThe upcoming videogame 'Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name' took only six months to develop, according to director Masayoshi Yokoyama of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Originally considered to be part of 'Like a Dragon 8', the studio decided to make it a standalone game. The development workflow was streamlined by using the same engine for both games.
'Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name' is a spin-off set between Yakuza 6 and 7 and shares the story of character Kiryu Kazama. Its gameplay includes familiar elements such as city exploration. The game releases on November 9 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC and will be available on Xbox Game Pass. The game also includes a demo for the eighth installment of the 'Like a Dragon' series, 'Infinite Wealth', which is set to release on January 26, 2024.
The physical edition is set to release exclusively in Japan for PlayStation consoles. The decision to release a physical version led to the inclusion of more content in the game.
