Marvel Studios' executives are considering changing the narrative from Kang the Conqueror to Doctor Doom due to the recent arrest of actor Jonathan Majors, reports Variety. Majors, who plays Kang, became tangled in domestic violence accusations, prompting the executives to ponder potential back-up plans despite the actor denying the allegations. Kang was slated to be the primary villain in the upcoming years for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), much like Thanos was in the previous story arc. His character has already been introduced in shows like "Loki" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania", hence replacing or dismissing Kang is not viable. With Majors' reputation at risk or if he is convicted, Marvel could introduce the iconic villain Doctor Doom.

However, replacing Kang, who has a significant role in Phase 5 and 6 of the MCU, would be challenging. To compound the issues, the final episode of Loki Season 2 further cements Kang's position in the narrative. An insider disclosed that Marvel is in a fix with the Kang storyline. Majors, who was arrested on March 25 on charges revolving around a domestic dispute, was dropped by his talent manager Entertainment 360 and PR firm The Lede Company in April. His lawyer maintains his innocence, despite the controversy affecting the actor's life, career, and reputation.
