Marvel Hits Pause on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. Shows

Feb 21, 2025 11:58 AM

Marvel Studios has reportedly paused development on three anticipated Disney+ series: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. While these projects were never officially greenlit, the studio has shifted its focus towards upcoming releases, including the highly anticipated Daredevil: Born Again. Marvel aims to adopt a strategy of developing more shows than it ultimately produces. The news comes as a surprise, especially for Nova, which had recently begun development under showrunner Ed Bernero. Strange Academy was set to center on a magical school led by Doctor Strange's ally, Wong. Meanwhile, details about Terror, Inc. remain limited. Upcoming Marvel content includes Daredevil: Born Again premiering on March 4, Ironheart on June 24, and Wonder Man in December.

Will the paused Marvel shows ever be made?

While there is no confirmation that Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. will be produced in the future, Marvel's shift in focus suggests these projects may be revisited later, especially if public interest remains high.

Nova is a character rooted in Marvel Comics, known for its connection to the intergalactic Nova Corps and its rich history within the cosmic Marvel Universe. Fans have long awaited a live-action adaptation, which seemed to gain momentum when news of the series first broke. Strange Academy would have introduced viewers to the mystical side of the MCU, directly involving the popular character Doctor Strange and exploring themes of magic and mentorship in the superhero realm.
