Marvel unveils Vision series for Disney Plus - Like it or not

May 27, 2024 3:49 PM

Marvel Studios has announced a new Vision series for Disney Plus, despite recent statements from Disney CEO Bob Iger and Marvel head Kevin Feige about producing fewer, more concise TV shows. The upcoming series will feature the white Vision and is slated for release in 2026, with Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas serving as the showrunner. This project continues from the events of WandaVision, where Vision was resurrected in two distinct ways, leading to the white Vision’s quest for purpose. While fans may not be overly enthused, there are other promising Marvel projects on the horizon, including Deadpool & Wolverine, The Fantastic Four, and Daredevil: Born Again.

What is the new Vision series about?

The new Vision series will focus on the white Vision, who was resurrected with a 'clean slate' of a conscience during the events of WandaVision. The series will explore his journey to find a new purpose and identity.

Background Information: Introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Vision is an android created using the Mind Stone. He became a pivotal character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), playing significant roles in several films. WandaVision, a critically acclaimed series on Disney Plus, explores the aftermath of Vision's death and resurrection, presenting intriguing storylines around reality and grief, ultimately setting the stage for this new Vision series.

I'm pretty stoked to see where they take the white Vision's storyline—after WandaVision, there's a lot of intriguing territory to cover with his quest for identity. Plus, with Terry Matalas at the helm, we might get some seriously compelling sci-fi vibes.
