Jun 09, 2024 5:32 PM

Konami has teased its upcoming remake of the classic 2004 game, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, now renamed Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. The game was showcased at Microsoft's annual Xbox Games Showcase, giving fans a glimpse of new stealth takedowns and combat mechanics. Despite the stunning gameplay trailer, a specific release date was not shared, although rumors suggest a 2024 release. The renaming to Metal Gear Solid Δ signifies changes to the original game, but Konami has confirmed that they will not be recording new voice lines for this remake. Stay tuned for more updates as the release approaches.

Why is the Metal Gear Solid remake called Metal Gear Solid Δ instead of 3?

Konami chose the Δ (Delta) symbol to signify changes and updates being made to the game, highlighting how it will differ from the original 2004 release.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of the most beloved entries in the Metal Gear series, initially launching on the PlayStation 2. It introduced players to the origins of the series’ protagonist, Big Boss, in a Cold War-era setting. Known for its intricate story, survival mechanics, and stealth gameplay, the game has had a lasting impact on the genre and its remake is highly anticipated by fans around the world.
