Minecraft Realms Servers Face Ongoing Week-Long Outage

Aug 19, 2024 10:09 PM

Minecraft Realms has been facing significant connectivity issues for almost a week, with fans experiencing long loading times and frequent connection errors since August 13. The problems seem to have originated with the release of update 1.21.20, which changed Realms invite links and included various bug fixes. Mojang has acknowledged these issues and is reportedly working diligently to restore full functionality, indicating that approximately 70% of users should have access as of August 17. A temporary block on traffic for the new update has been enacted across all platforms except for Nintendo Switch until a hotfix is available, with ongoing disturbances noted even as of August 19.

When will Minecraft Realms issues be resolved?

While Mojang has yet to specify an exact resolution date, they are actively working on the issues related to Minecraft Realms. Current updates suggest that users should see improvements soon, but sporadic connectivity problems may continue until the hotfix is fully implemented.

Minecraft, released in 2009, is a sandbox game that allows players to build and create worlds using blocks. It has cultivated a massive community, partially due to features like Minecraft Realms, which provide personal servers for shared gameplay. Players can enjoy creativity and collaboration across various platforms, though recent technical difficulties have momentarily impacted this experience.
