Modern Warfare 3, the 2023 instalment of the popular action-packed video game, is introducing a new feature that players should get excited about!

Have you ever wished your in-game pistol could function like a submachine gun? Or your light machine gun to operate differently? Well, this game update is for you!

The new feature expands on the Gunsmith system, a weapon-building module that allows players to customize their own weapons. From the makers, Sledgehammer Games, it's called the Aftermarket Parts system and builds upon the previous Conversion Kits' functionalities. This system will essentially transform your weapon into a different one.

An exciting part about this soon-to-be-revealed multiplayer feature is its goal to entirely change a weapon's role. For instance, your burst-fire Renetti pistol can morph into a full-auto carbine! However, keep in mind that not every weapon is compatible with Conversion Kits. These special conversions are earned by completing challenges related to the weapon you want to modify, but they only become available after fully leveling up the weapon.

But that's not all, Modern Warfare 3 is also tweaking how unlocks work in the Gunsmith. Players can look forward to shared attachments, which need only be unlocked once. Say goodbye to penalties for using small optics, and hello to using attachments across different weapons, making your gaming experience more streamlined.

Prepared to roll out on November 10, Modern Warfare 3 is hitting platforms including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. More about the game's multiplayer features will be revealed at the Call of Duty Next event on Thursday, October 5, and the beta version will start from the following day on PlayStation. Stay tuned, gamers!
