Modern Warfare 3 patch targets aftermarket add-ons

Jan 23, 2024 5:17 PM

Activision's latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III brings significant balance adjustments, particularly focusing on the Aftermarket Parts feature in weapon customization. This feature allows players to transform weapons into entirely new guns once they've mastered them through in-game challenges and reached max weapon level. The recent patch aims to ensure that these Conversion Kits enhance weapons' capabilities without compromising their primary roles, responding to players' feedback for balanced and enjoyable gameplay.

The changes introduced include modifications to the Zombies mode with the addition of Warlord randomization. Additionally, the patch addresses issues in the UI and progression systems, along with balancing various attachments for assault rifles, battle rifles, submachine guns, and marksman rifles to improve weapon handling and fairness in combat situations. Players can now also directly purchase Operator Skins and Blueprints that are not active in the Store through the Armory.

How do the latest balance changes affect the Aftermarket Parts feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III?

The balance changes are designed to ensure that the Conversion Kits from the Aftermarket Parts feature provide a fun and unique experience without making any weapon too powerful in its secondary form. The update refines how these parts affect weapon behavior, aiming to keep them "powerful, worth the grind, and most importantly, fun."

Launched in November 2023, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the latest installment of the popular Call of Duty franchise, developed by Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch. The series is known for its fast-paced action, intricate weapon customization, and engaging multiplayer modes. Modern Warfare III continues this tradition with its deep customization systems, allowing players to adapt their weapons through various attachments and the new Aftermarket Parts feature, now carefully balanced for a better gaming experience.
