A Naughty Dog employee has claimed to be working on a remastered version of the popular video game, The Last of Us: Part 2. Mark Pajarillo, who has been with the company since January 2021, recently posted on his LinkedIn page about his involvement in the remastering process. Surprisingly, Sony, the parent company, has not made any official announcement about a remastered version of this PS4 game.

However, there have been persistent rumors in the gaming community about a PS5 and PC edition of the game being in development. This was further exacerbated when Gustavo Santaolalla, the game's composer, mentioned "new editions" of the game last July.

Despite the lack of official confirmation, it seems likely that The Last of Us: Part 2 might be re-released. Its predecessor, The Last of Us: Part One, also got a remake on PS5 and PC. Sony could be strategizing on this given the success of the HBO series based on the game released earlier this year.

Earlier this week, there were reports about what seems to be a difficult development process of the multiplayer game version of The Last of Us.

Opinions within the gaming community vary, with some welcoming the remake and some expressing disappointment that the development of the multiplayer game has halted to allow for yet another remake. There are also discussions on whether this remake would require additional charges or can be provided via a free update. However, most agree that the prospect of this remastered edition is exciting.
