New Avowed Trailer Drops, Release Date Mystery Continues

Jun 09, 2024 6:22 PM

At the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase, Obsidian Entertainment showcased a new story trailer for their upcoming first-person RPG, Avowed. Despite not providing an explicit release date, the trailer confirms a 2024 launch. The game will transport players to the Living Lands as an envoy of Aedyr, tasked with investigating a plague and confronting a looming threat. New character Giatta, a scholar of soul energy, was also introduced. Avowed promises multiple endings, but no romance options with companions. The game, set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, will be available on Game Pass from day one. Rumors hint at a potential November 2024 release date.

When is Avowed expected to release?

While no official release date has been given, rumors suggest that Avowed might target a November 2024 release, aligning with a Fall 2024 release window previously mentioned by Obsidian.

Background: Avowed is developed by Obsidian Entertainment, known for critically acclaimed games like The Outer Worlds and Fallout: New Vegas. Set in the same universe as their previous title, Pillars of Eternity, Avowed aims to deliver a rich narrative experience with compelling RPG elements. As an Xbox Games Studio title, it will be available on the subscription service Game Pass from its release. Obsidian continues to emphasize player choice and replayability with multiple endings, enhancing their reputation for creating deeply engaging role-playing games.
