Nintendo and Lego are joining forces to create Lego sets based on Animal Crossing, a popular Nintendo game. A teaser for Lego Animal Crossing was recently revealed by Nintendo, but no further information was divulged. Characters from the game, like Tom Nook, were shown in Lego form.
The idea of Animal Crossing Lego sets was hinted at in August by insiders who claimed that five such sets were found via Brickmerge, a bot that seeks out new Lego sets upon listing. These sets are expected to be released in March 2024.
It's still unclear when more details about Lego Animal Crossing will be released. In the Animal Crossing game, players create and arrange their own village and house, offering great potential for Lego sets.
The most recent game in the franchise,
Animal Crossing: New Horizon, launched on the Nintendo Switch in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic, and has been a massive success. By June 2023, 42.79 million copies had been sold, making it the second best-selling Switch game just behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Lego has been working with Nintendo for a few years now. Various Lego sets have been released, based on Super Mario and other Nintendo characters and elements. Michel Musters, part of the Gamer.nl editorial team since 2007, published the original article. He plays on nearly every gaming system and is particularly fond of The Legend of Zelda and Hollow Knight, eagerly awaiting the unlikely release of a new Wave Race.
