The creators of "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" announced that there are no plans to release any additional content or DLC for the game. Nintendo's Zelda producer, Eiji Aonuma, confirmed the news, explicitly stating that they had done all they could with the "Tears of the Kingdom" universe. The game's director, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, agreed, adding that he is already thinking about what the next Zelda adventure might be – though the specific form it will take is not yet clear.

However, Aonuma did hint that the next game might revisit the world of "Tears of the Kingdom," either as a sequel or a completely new title. This idea was born from the team's decision to make a sequel to the previous game, "Breath of the Wild," because it offered the opportunity to create a fresh experience in the same setting. Aonuma suggested they might return to the same world if they can find a compelling enough reason to do so.

The no-DLC news comes despite the significant success of "Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" when it was launched earlier this year, characterized by incredibly high sales. Fans were hoping for expansions, given Nintendo's release of two DLC packages for "Breath of the Wild." For now, it seems that players will have to wait for the next chapter in the Zelda series to experience new adventures.
