Nintendo Switch 2 Won't Play Original Switch Games Natively

Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 console will not be natively compatible with original Switch games due to hardware differences. While initially expected to allow seamless backward compatibility, developers revealed that the compatibility was a lower priority compared to performance enhancements.
