Oblivion Remastered Trailer Hints at First-Person Horse Riding

May 01, 2025 8:59 AM

The recently released trailer for Oblivion Remastered sparked a wave of excitement, particularly highlighting first-person horse riding, a feature not present in the base game or its predecessor, Skyrim. While many fans speculated on the potential inclusion of this feature in the remaster, it seems it didn't make the final cut. However, a modder named WinterElfeas has already created a work-in-progress mod called 'First Person Horse', giving players a glimpse into how first-person riding could look. Although the mod comes with some glitches, including abrupt camera transitions and minor clipping issues, it represents an early attempt to enhance immersion for horse riding in Cyrodiil. Players eager for a more refined experience will have to wait for more advanced modding tools to fully realize this concept.

Will Oblivion Remastered eventually include first-person riding?

While first-person horse riding was teased in the Oblivion Remastered trailer, it is currently not a part of the game. However, dedicated modders are already working on this feature, and there is potential for future updates or mods to refine the experience.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a classic action RPG renowned for its open world and deep lore. Originally launched in 2006, it has maintained a loyal fanbase, and the recent remaster aims to bring enhanced graphics and functionalities to modern platforms. With the burgeoning modding community and projects like Skyblivion, which aims to recreate the game using Skyrim's engine, Oblivion's legacy continues to thrive, attracting both new players and nostalgic veterans alike.

Modders out here doing the lords work again—first-person horse riding might be janky now, but you know the community won’t rest until it’s flawless. Bethesda should just hire these folks at this point, honestly. Kinda wild that a 2006 game is still getting this much love, but hey, if it means I can ride a horse in first-person without yeeting into the stratosphere, I’m here for it.
