Palworld Director: Switch 2 Version 'Worth Considering' If Powerful

Mar 24, 2025 11:15 AM

Palworld's Communications Director John "Bucky" Buckley recently discussed the potential of bringing the game to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, expressing interest but noting that technical specifications are still unknown. Buckley mentioned that the game has been labeled as "Pokemon with guns," a comparison Pocketpair isn't fond of. He stated that the game is quite robust, and they would consider a Switch 2 port if the hardware meets the game's demands. Notably, Pocketpair is currently involved in a legal battle with Nintendo over alleged patent violations regarding certain game mechanics, which complicates the matter further.

Will Palworld be available on the Nintendo Switch 2?

Possibly, but the decision hinges on the specs of the new console, which Pocketpair has yet to review. If the Switch 2 has the necessary power, a port could be feasible.

Palworld is a unique blend of monster capturing and survival gameplay, allowing players to collect creatures and engage in combat using firearms. This blend of genres has attracted attention for its innovative approach within a gaming landscape dominated by traditional RPG structures. Currently available on Steam, the game recently introduced cross-platform play, enhancing its community features.
