Hey Gamers! The creators of Payday 3, a game by Starbreeze Studios, are setting their sights on fixing player progression issues, now that they've sorted out their server instability problems.
For weeks, gamers struggled with the game's rocky servers to the point Starbreeze was thinking about creating an offline mode just for solo players. Fortunately, after some major fixes, the servers are now running smoothly, and Payday 3's player-base has exploded to 3 million users!
However, amidst all the fun, players reported another problem - the game's progression system. Players were frustrated because unlocking all the sweet stuff like gear, weapons, and cosmetics was tied to completing challenges, which were mostly weapon-related. This situation encouraged players to ignore stealth and cared less about finishing heists if it meant completing a weapon challenge to score some unlocks. And to top it off, the game didn't provide XP rewards for successful heists.
At first, Starbreeze mentioned they didn't intend to tweak the system. Players didn't take well to that, given they felt a big part of their gaming experience was being overlooked. Recently, though, the game developer changed its tune, stating on a live stream that they're planning significant changes to the progression system. Andreas Hall Penninger, the lead producer, noted that they've heard the players and a bunch of changes will be coming in an upcoming patch, not the game's next big one though, which is due in a few days.
The much-awaited Patch 1 will roll out some important bug fixes. Hopefully, after that, it'll be time for a well-deserved revamp of the progression system. So gamers, stay tuned for what's coming next and keep gaming!
