PC version of Starfield gets DLSS support next week

Nov 02, 2023 9:10 AM

The PC version of Starfield, a game from the creators of The Elder Scrolls series, is set to receive DLSS support through a forthcoming update next week, according to Bethesda's social media announcements. This update will be available through Steam Beta and will allow owners of Nvidia cards to upscale Starfield using AI without compromising performance, potentially increasing resolution from 1080p to 4K. The PC version of Starfield already offers support for FSR2, a similar technology for AMD cards.

The update also includes options to configure HDR and other optimizations. Since its release on September 6 on Xbox Series X and S, PC and Game Pass, before being available to selected players a few days earlier, Starfield has set a new record for most simultaneous new Xbox Game Pass subscribers in a single day. Despite not being perfect, the game's strengths largely overshadow its weaknesses, earning a review score of 9 from Lars Cornelis, who describes it as a typical Bethesda game, but in space.
