Persona 4 Remake Hinted at by Voice Actor's Departure

May 28, 2025 3:52 PM

The long-anticipated remake of Persona 4 may be on the horizon, as voice actor Yuri Lowenthal has confirmed he will not be reprising his role as Yosuke Hanamura in the potentially upcoming title. Lowenthal took to social media to express his disappointment, indicating that Atlus has chosen not to bring him back for the project. Although no official announcement has been made regarding the remake, speculation has been growing due to a previous domain discovery and leaks suggesting its existence. Following the successful launch of Persona 3 Reload, a remake of Persona 4 seems like a logical step for Atlus. With the summer game showcase around the corner, fans might expect official news soon.

Is Persona 4 getting a remake?

While there is no official confirmation from Atlus, indications from voice actor Yuri Lowenthal suggest that a remake is in development, as he has stated he will not be returning for the project, adding weight to these rumors.

Persona 4 is part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, developed by Atlus, first launched in 2008 for PlayStation 2 and later remade as Persona 4 Golden for the Vita. The game was critically acclaimed for its compelling story, character development, and innovative blend of life simulation and RPG mechanics, making it a beloved classic in the genre. Following the successful reception of its predecessors and spin-offs, a modern remake could breathe new life into this iconic title and attract both new players and veterans alike.
