Physical Release Date for BALDUR'S GATE 3 Delayed

Mar 20, 2024 4:27 PM

Larian Studios has announced a delay for the physical console versions of Baldur's Gate 3 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, now expected to release in April or May of 2024 due to production challenges. The Xbox versions will come with four discs as the game exceeds the capacity of three Blu-rays. However, the Deluxe Edition for PC has not been affected by this issue and pre-orders are currently being shipped. Baldur's Gate 3 has also achieved the status of being the most-played Steam Deck game of the previous year.

Why has the release of Baldur's Gate 3 physical console versions been delayed?

The release has been postponed due to production issues that are preventing the games from being shipped on time.

Baldur's Gate 3 is a highly anticipated RPG from Larian Studios, known for their critically acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin series. As the successor to the beloved Baldur's Gate franchise, which has been influential in the RPG genre since the late 90s, Baldur's Gate 3 promises a rich narrative, deep character customization, and strategic combat that allows players to engage in the story both solo and with friends in cooperative gameplay. With a legacy of detailed storytelling and immersive fantasy worlds, Larian Studios aims to capture the essence of classic Dungeons & Dragons gameplay with modern enhancements.

Bummer about the delay for the console versions of Baldur's Gate 3, but at least the PC Deluxe Edition pre-orders are still on track. Larian Studios aims to deliver an immersive RPG experience, so the wait will likely be worth it for fans of the series.

Ah, delays are never fun, but it's good to see Larian Studios prioritizing the quality of the physical console versions of Baldur's Gate 3. Plus, it's impressive that the game has already secured its place as the most-played title on the Steam Deck in the previous year. Looks like it's going to be a big hit once it's in players' hands

Whoa, looks like the release of Baldur's Gate 3 on consoles has hit a snag with production challenges causing a delay. But on the bright side, it's awesome to see the game becoming the most-played title on Steam Deck Can't wait to dive into that rich narrative and strategic combat when it finally drops.
