Pixar Unveils Gatto and Latest Toy Story 5 Details

Pixar has exciting announcements for its upcoming projects, including Toy Story 5 and a new original film titled Gatto. Gatto, directed by Enrico Casarosa, will focus on Nero, a black cat indebted to a feline mob boss while navigating life in Venice, Italy. The film is set for release in summer 2027. Meanwhile, Toy Story 5 is scheduled for 2026 and will explore themes like “toys versus electronics,” showcasing the challenges Woody and Buzz face as Bonnie, now older, engages with technology. Additionally, Pixar shared details about Hoppers, a film about a young girl trying to halt a highway construction plan that threatens local wildlife, set to premiere in March 2026. Attendees of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival also got a sneak peek at Elio, another upcoming film about a boy mistaken for an intergalactic ambassador.

Gatto follows a black cat named Nero, who is under obligation to a feline mob boss while living in Venice. As he detests water, he unexpectedly befriends a lonely street musician named Maya, leading to a journey of self-discovery.
