Pokémon Sleep, a recent app release designed to help gamers improve their sleep habits, has already had a significant exploitable issue discovered by users. This 'cheat' tricks your smartphone into believing you're sleeping more than you actually are, meaning you can unlock rewards on Pokémon Go faster.
To take advantage of this exploit, players need the new €60 Pokémon Go Plus+ accessory, which syncs data between Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon Go. The way it works is simple: once you've registered a nap of at least 90 minutes in the app, you can keep adjusting the date on your phone to accumulate more naps.
Thanks to this trick, gamers have been able to amass a week's worth of sleep in just a few hours, which is then sent over to Pokémon Go to unlock a special Snorlax outfit. However, it seems the extent of this exploit is limited, as you can still obtain the special outfit organically by logging your sleep data for seven consecutive days, provided you have the Pokémon Go Plus+ accessory.
Though there may be chinks in its programming, Pokémon Sleep, launched just yesterday, still serves to help users boost their sleep habits in a fun, gamified manner.
