Sony has recently announced that it will be ending support for X/Twitter integration on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on Nov. 13, according to an article by George Yang for IGN

This news means that gamers will unable to view any content published on X on either console, or post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay activities on X directly from their PS5/PS4

While Sony has failed to provide a detailed explanation for the change, there are speculations that it might be due to the platform's API changes, similar to the reason Microsoft disabled Xbox console screenshot sharing earlier

Additionally, X went through massive changes under Elon Musk's ownership after he acquired it in 2022 for a staggering 44 billion, with most alterations not being well received in the video game industry

As for alternative solutions, Sony has suggested using the PlayStation mobile app to share content or uploading data onto a USB drive and then transferring it to PCs

In a recent move, X announced it would be testing a new program where unverified accounts have to sign up for a $1 annual subscription to post and interact with other posts, in New Zealand and the Philippines.
