Nov 19, 2024 4:56 PM

Remedy Entertainment has shed light on the financial aspects of its upcoming titles, Control 2 and FBC Firebreak, revealing the sales targets necessary for these games to achieve profitability. For FBC Firebreak, a three-player co-op game set in the Control universe, it has a development budget of approximately 30 million euros and requires three million lifetime sales to break even. Control 2, a full-price action RPG, has a higher budget of around 50 million euros and needs to sell between three to four million copies to reach its ROI. The studio's previous game, Control, sold over 4.5 million units, indicating a potentially robust market for its sequels. However, challenges persist in the current triple-A game's landscape, with many developers facing job losses and studio closures.

What are the sales targets for Control 2 and Firebreak?

Control 2 needs to sell between three and four million copies, while Firebreak requires three million copies sold to break even.

Control 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed game Control, which combines elements of action and exploration in a mysterious government building filled with supernatural phenomena. The first game has been praised for its innovative gameplay and narrative depth, and with its prior success, fans are highly anticipating the sequel. Meanwhile, FBC Firebreak expands on the Control universe with cooperative gameplay, appealing to both old fans and newcomers in the gaming community.
