Sapkowski Completes New Witcher Book at Last

Aug 20, 2024 11:20 AM

Andrzej Sapkowski, the acclaimed author of The Witcher series, has completed his long-awaited new book, the first entry since 2013. Titled Chimères, it took two years to write and will be released worldwide in early 2025, following a launch in Poland later in 2024. While few details are available, this book may connect to the short story A Little Sacrifice, focusing on Geralt's adventures alongside Dandelion and rival bard Essi Daven. With an animated film adaptation, Sirens of the Deep, in the works by Netflix that references A Little Sacrifice, fans can anticipate a side story that explores beloved characters without directly impacting the main saga of The Witcher. This book continues the expansion of The Witcher universe, which includes games, a popular Netflix series, and various adaptations.

When will the new Witcher book be released?

The new Witcher book, Chimères, is set to be released worldwide in early 2025, following a debut in Poland in late 2024.

The Witcher franchise has grown significantly since the original book series, comprising a highly successful game trilogy created by CD Projekt Red, a Netflix series with multiple seasons, and even extensions into comics and a tabletop RPG. This rich lore and character development have kept audiences engaged long after the concluding events of the main saga in the books, paving the way for new stories to be told.
