PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Subscribers Brace for December Game Departures

Major video game titles are set to leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium services on December 19, 2023. Fans of the Yakuza series and the Middle-earth games will need to act fast as Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, amongst others, will soon be unavailable through the subscription. This change comes just before the release of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on January 26, 2024. Along with these popular games, titles such as Caladrius Blaze and The Escapists 2 are also leaving the platform.

To balance the upcoming departures, PlayStation has added new games for Extra and Premium subscribers, including Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme vs. Maxi Boost ON, and more. Exclusive classic titles such as PaRappa the Rapper 2 and Grandia have been made available particularly for Premium members. Additionally, Teardown, a blocky destruction game, was recently released for PS5 players, further expanding the PlayStation Plus offerings.

As games cycle in and out of the PlayStation Plus lineup, subscribers are encouraged to check the updated selection and enjoy the latest additions while they last.
