Season 19 introduces cross progression to Apex Legends

Oct 26, 2023 5:00 PM

Apex Legends' Season 19 brings cross-progression to the popular battle royale game, allowing players to play on any platform with the same account. The progress can be transferred from one platform to another, with multiple accounts being condensed into a singular one, taking on the highest level and transferring all cosmetic items and earned badges. It's currently unclear what will happen to duplicate items. Respawn has yet to reveal anything regarding the introduction of the frequently requested 120 frames per second on consoles.

The upcoming season, Ignite, is set to introduce a new character, Conduit, referred to as a shield healer. Her tactical ability, Radiant Transfer, generates shields for her and her teammates, while her ultimate, Energy Barricade, enables players to throw up a barrier. Her passive ability, Savior Speed, allows her to run faster when moving towards her teammates.

The developers are also revamping the Ranked system, introducing Promotional Trials. Players on the verge of ranking up must prove they deserve the higher rank, by winning or securing kills/assists in a set number of matches. Failure to do so will result in the player remaining at their current level. This new feature aims to deter passive players. Restrictions on groups within the Ranked play are being removed, allowing players to team up regardless of their ranks. Players will now receive a banner frame displaying their rank as opposed to the previously awarded dive trail. This reward can be permanently kept.

Season 19 will also see some changes to the Storm Point map, including the removal of the Prowlers. Other maps featured for this season include Broken Moon and Olympus. Apex Legends: Ignite is set for a release on October 31st, available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
