Silent Hill: Ascension
An interactive streaming series, is apparently set to debut this Halloween, as hinted by a Google Play listing.
This new experience promises to be a choose-your-own-adventure-style show wherein the audience makes collective decisions that directly shape the Silent Hill narrative saga.
The series is produced by Genvid Entertainment and will feature daily live story moments, influenced by the audience's choices.
The audience's selections won't just be mere tagalongs; their decisions have potential to bring about real changes in the storyline.
The list indicates one can catch up on each part on-demand, adding flexibility for the viewers.
Although Genvid Entertainment has remained largely quiet on the details, there have been some insights into the project by Genvid's CEO, Jacob Navok.
Contrary to how some are likening it to Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Navok suggests it mirrors more of a "crowd-control decision making" structure.
Navok also mentions that viewers can stream Ascension.com and claims that it will be available almost everywhere Netflix is.
As per the list, Silent Hill: Ascension explores the horrifying experiences of different protagonists around the world who are plagued by newly introduced SILENT HILL monsters.
These creatures, hidden in obscurity, pose threats to people, their offspring, and entire communities, as they grapple with the terrifying shadows filled with their own guilt and fear.
This series is a collaborative project among Konami, Genvid Entertainment, JJ Abrams' Bad Robot Games, and Behavior Interactive.
Silent Hill fans should note that this is just one of several projects being developed, including a Silent Hill 2 remake, two spin-offs, and a new film.
