Pinball enthusiasts and fans of classic cinema are in for a treat as Stern Pinball Inc. announces the launch of its JAWS pinball machine. Based on the iconic 1975 movie directed by Steven Spielberg, the new JAWS pinball machine incorporates original footage from the film, authentic sound effects, and a score by John Williams. Notably, actor Richard Dreyfuss, one of the original stars of JAWS, contributes new callouts, adding to the machine's cinematic authenticity.

Designed by Keith Elwin, who previously created Stern's Godzilla and Iron Maiden machines, the JAWS pinball game includes eye-catching features such as a chum bucket mechanism that 'releases blood' with LED lighting, a moving shark fin target, and a variety of models. The Premium and Limited Edition versions come with additional features like a great white shark toy, while exclusive artwork and side armor distinguish the Limited Edition. As part of Stern's modern offerings, the game is connected to the Stern Insider Connected system, allowing players to track their scores and achievements.

The JAWS pinball machine comes in three versions: Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition, priced at $6,999, $9,699, and $12,999, respectively. This game promises to blend the thrill of pinball with the excitement of the thriller that has captivated audiences for decades.

What are some of the unique features of Stern's JAWS pinball machine?

Unique features of the JAWS pinball machine include the original movie footage, sound effects, and music, LED 'blood' effect, moveable shark fin target, a Great White shark toy that emerges from beneath a boat, a mini Orca boat playfield, callouts from Richard Dreyfuss, and connectivity with the Stern Insider Connected system for score tracking and achievements.

As a background on the original JAWS film, it was released in 1975 and directed by Steven Spielberg. Elwin's track record combined with Dreyfuss's involvement practically guarantees this table will be a deep dive into nostalgia that's both a visual and auditory feast for fans across the board.

Stern's diving deep into nostalgia with this JAWS machine, blending that classic Spielberg fear with Elwin's proven knack for epic table design - a shoo-in for fans wanting to relive the Amity Island terror flipper by flipper. At those prices, though, you gotta be more than a casual fan to take a bite; it's a hefty sum for a piece of cinematic pinball history.
