Skull and Bones Receives Another New Launch Timeline

Oct 26, 2023 6:32 PM

Ubisoft is rescheduling the release of the pirate adventure game, Skull and Bones, for the seventh time. Previously, the game was anticipated to launch between 2023 and 2024. The new release window places the video game's debut between January and March of 2024.

Skull and Bones was first announced at E3 2017 and initially set to release in 2018. The game's launch date has been postponed multiple times due to various issues, including a change of creative directors. In August, testers had an opportunity to play the game and reportedly enjoyed it.

Ubisoft did not only announce the shift in Skull and Bones' release window but also quietly reported another significant game delay. A mystery game, speculated to be on the size of Assassin's Creed or Far Cry and possibly Star Wars: Outlaws, has also been shifted to next year.

Despite the delays, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and XDefiant are all maintaining their respective schedules. In other news, Ubisoft reported a rise in net bookings for the quarter, totaling €554.8 million ($584.1 million), which signifies a 36.6% increase year over year, driven by stronger than anticipated back catalog sales.
