Jul 26, 2024 6:12 PM

San Diego Comic-Con 2024 brought exciting news for fans of The Boys, with the announcement of a new prequel series, Vought Rising. Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising is poised to dive into the origins of the infamous Vought corporation. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. Producers are currently writing the scripts, but no release date has been announced. Additionally, a teaser trailer for Gen V Season 2 was revealed, featuring Chace Crawford as The Deep and narrated by Hamish Linklater as the new Dean of Godolkin University. The Boys will also see Soldier Boy as a regular character in its upcoming Season 5, which is confirmed to be the series' final season.

What is the plot of Vought Rising?

Vought Rising will explore the origins of Vought Corporation in the 1950s, delving into its rise and the various historical elements, such as Judy Garland and Joe McCarthy, that influenced its formation.

The Boys is a popular series on Prime Video that deconstructs the superhero genre by introducing a world where superheroes, backed by a powerful corporation called Vought, exhibit morally ambiguous and often dangerous behavior. The show has been praised for its dark humor, complex characters, and critique of modern celebrity culture and corporate ethics. The series has spawned several spin-offs, including the animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical and the upcoming The Boys: Mexico.
