sony extends concord beta, surprising gamers

Jul 15, 2024 8:19 AM

Sony has extended the Concord early access beta by an additional day, allowing PlayStation Plus subscribers to continue enjoying the game until July 15 at 12pm PDT, 9pm CEST, or 4am JST. The open beta is scheduled to run from July 18 to July 21, with potential for further extensions. Players who pre-ordered the game on Steam have also been participating, although peak concurrent player counts have been relatively modest. The beta features all 16 launch Freegunners, four maps, and three modes. An open beta this weekend will include an additional map, Bone Mines, and the new mode, Area Control. It's important to note that while progress carries over between the early access and open beta weekends, it will not carry over to the official launch on August 23. Participants can earn exclusive in-game rewards, and the full game will be available for $39.99, including all 16 characters, 12 maps, and six modes, with regular post-launch updates at no additional cost.

What content is available in the Concord early access beta?

The Concord early access beta includes all 16 launch Freegunners, four maps (Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard, Shock Risk), and three modes (Cargo Run, Clash Point, Trophy Hunt). The upcoming open beta will also introduce the new map Bone Mines and the mode Area Control, along with all early access content.

Concord is a 5v5 multiplayer hero shooter developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Sony. Set to launch on August 23, 2024, the game promises extensive content, including 16 playable characters, 12 distinct maps, and six team-based modes. The game is designed to provide a "full experience" for $39.99, with regular post-launch updates planned for additional content. Early access and open beta weekends offer players a taste of the action, and pre-order bonuses are available for those eager to dive in early.
