Sony Permanently Removes LittleBigPlanet 3 From PS Store

Sony has officially announced the permanent removal of LittleBigPlanet 3 from the PlayStation Store, effective October 31, 2024. This decision comes after continuous server issues exacerbated by hackers, which led to the shutdown of online services for the game earlier this year. All downloadable content (DLC) for LittleBigPlanet 3 will also be removed. However, players who currently own the game or purchase it before the deadline will retain access to it. This move raises questions about potential future remastering or remaking of the game for PS5 and PC, following similar actions taken with other titles in Sony's portfolio.

If you already own LittleBigPlanet 3 or buy it before October 31, 2024, you can continue to play it after the game is removed from the store. Also, players who obtained it through PlayStation Plus will still be able to access it post-removal.

LittleBigPlanet 3, originally developed by Sumo Digital, was released in November 2014 for both PS3 and PS4. The game has been praised for its creative platforming mechanics and community-driven content creation. However, its experience has been marred by server issues, leading to significant disruptions in the online community. The departure of LittleBigPlanet 3 from the PlayStation Store may signify a new direction for the franchise or potential updates for newer gaming systems.
