SpiderMan 2 Developers Open to Venom SpinOff If Fans Desire It

Insomniac Games, the developer of Spider-Man 2, has expressed their openness towards creating a Venom spin-off due to popular demand. This is according to Jon Paquette, the senior narrative director, who communicated with Insider. Currently, the team is more focused on Spider-Man 2, which launched on October 20, awaiting to see fans' reactions to the sequel prior to discussing about the potential Venom spin-off.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a spin-off that served as an interlude between the original Spider-Man game and its sequel, is an indication that Insomniac is not averse to further spin-offs. Paquette is optimistic about the response to the Venom elements in Spider-Man 2, aiming to provide "one of the best Venom stories you've ever experienced".

Insomniac plans to support Spider-Man 2 before shifting focus to their next project, with plans to roll out a New Game Plus mode and other features by the end of 2023. DLC confirmation is yet to be made. Insomniac is also working on a Wolverine project with scarce information since its announcement in 2021. The timeline of their upcoming projects remains unclear, including whether the Wolverine project will be launched prior to a new Spider-Man game.
