Square Enix recently revealed the inspiration behind the box art of its upcoming game, "Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth". This latest announcement continues their tradition of sharing intriguing insights about their games.

The box art, designed by Creative Director, Tetsuya Nomura, features three key characters - protagonist Cloud, antagonist Sephiroth, and enigmatic Zack - representing the game's pivotal storylines.

In the center, we find Sephiroth, who plays the role of the instigator of past events. Meanwhile, Cloud and Zack appear on the side, embodying destinies shattered by Sephiroth. The art extensively uses blood, fire, and red to symbolize Sephiroth's significant influence on the world. The logo's subtle red shade draws from the same concept.

Square Enix is renowned for its philosophical and occasionally unconventional approach to explaining Final Fantasy editions. It clarified a longstanding plot hole in the first game by explaining that character Aerith retained fuzzy memories of future events.

The company had been silent on the highly anticipated sequel for a while but resumed feeding fans with novel updates since June. As we approach the game's confirmed February 29 release date, gamers are learning more about the enriched story content around Zack, and possible significant backstory for Sephiroth sourced from the mobile game, Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis.
