Square Enix Unveils Killer Inn: New Social Deduction Game

Jun 06, 2025 9:40 PM

Square Enix has unveiled a new team-based social deduction game called Killer Inn at the Summer Game Fest. Players will take on the roles of two opposing teams: lambs and wolves. The wolves aim to eliminate all lambs, while the lambs must deduce the identities of the wolves to stop them. Set in a mansion, players collect survival tools and gear as they explore, with over 20 characters available, each equipped with unique abilities and weapons. Clues left behind by murdered players can help identify the wolves, and players can track suspicions through UI markers. The game features central safe zones and a boat escape mechanism for lambs. A closed beta is expected on Steam, but no release date has been set yet.

What is the gameplay of Killer Inn like?

Killer Inn features team-based gameplay where players are thrust into a murder mystery environment. Players can choose to be either lambs or wolves, collecting tools and gear while uncovering clues to identify the wolves. The game encourages strategic thinking and deduction, with UI elements to help track suspicious players, safe zones for protection, and multiple ways to win including escaping via a boat.

Killer Inn is part of the growing genre of social deduction games, capitalizing on the success of titles like Among Us and Town of Salem. The concept blends suspense and strategy, providing intense gameplay where teamwork and deception go hand in hand, making it appealing to fans of both murder mystery and action games.
