Square Enix Upgrades Performance Mode in FINAL FANTASY 7 Rebirth
Mar 05, 2024 9:22 AMSquare Enix is set to roll out an update for the performance mode of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, specifically aiming to improve visual fidelity and performance after feedback from players. Performance mode issues previously addressed in a demo included unnatural looking character faces due to lack of detailed lighting effects and complaints about dynamic resolution dipping too low at times. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 remake series, continues the story from where the heroes leave Midgar and was released on PS5 at the end of February to critical acclaim, including a 9 out of 10 review praising its enchanting road-trip narrative, combat, soundtrack, charming environments, and characters.
What improvements will be made in the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Performance mode update?
Although not fully detailed, improvements will target character facial appearances and lighting detail to enhance realism, and optimization of the dynamic resolution to prevent significant drops during gameplay.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a continuation of one of the most iconic JRPGs of all time. Its predecessor, the original Final Fantasy 7, was a groundbreaking game released for the original PlayStation in 1997 that not only revolutionized role-playing games with its epic storyline and memorable characters but also played a significant role in popularizing the genre outside of Japan. This remake endeavors to retell the classic story with modern graphics, gameplay, and expanded narrative elements, satisfying long-time fans and introducing new players to the rich universe of Final Fantasy.
