Starbreeze Studios has broken its silence regarding the repeatedly delayed first patch for Payday 3. Earlier in the month, Starbreeze promised over 200 improvements to the game in the patch. Originally set to be released on October 5, the studio later announced the patch's release was pushed back to mid-month but failed to materialize, with no new release date given.
In a statement, the developer acknowledged the delay, ensuring fans that the team is diligently working on their top priority - the patch's release. Starbreeze also expressed its plan to streamline the process for future patch publications. The patch is currently under testing and has been sent for approval to the platform holders.
Released on September 21, Payday 3 has been plagued by matchmaking issues which hampered players from joining games. Starbreeze stated that the issue has been mostly resolved, but fans have voiced dissatisfaction with other problems in the game. This has resulted in a decline of player numbers, particularly on Steam.
Payday 3 is playable on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and also available on Game Pass. The game unfolds in New York City, years after Payday 2, with the return of characters Dallas, Hoxton, Chain, and Wolf.
