Bethesda's much-anticipated game Starfield now has a new update available in Steam's beta client, which introduces support for DLSS technology. This feature allows players with Nvidia graphics cards to use AI upscaling for enhanced game resolution, such as going from 1080p to 4K, without compromising performance. AMD card users had already been enjoying a similar benefit through FSR2 since the game's release.
The recent patch also includes other optimizations such as adjustable HDR settings and a quality-of-life update that allows players to consume food and drinks directly in the game environment instead of picking them up first. Detailed patch notes are available for players to review.
Starfield, hailed as 'Skyrim in space', was released on September 6 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass, with some players gaining early access a few days prior. It has set a new record for the most concurrent new Xbox Game Pass subscribers in a single day, reflecting its popularity and success. The game has been praised for its vast, diverse, and detailed world, offering an experience that invites players to get lost in its expansive space environment despite some imperfections typical of Bethesda titles.
