The hit legal drama "Suits" is dominating the streaming scene, retaining its top spot for the 12th week in a row as revealed by Nielsen's streaming charts.
Astonishingly, the show has set this record in just 12 weeks, beating "Ozark," which took four full seasons to achieve the same feat, and outperforming second place "Virgin River" by nearly 400 million viewing minutes in the week ending September 10.
It seems this momentum isn't slowing down for "Suits," which ended in 2019, having broke records when it clocked over 3 billion viewing minutes in a two-week period in August.
Despite these achievements, fair pay remains an issue, as reported by "Suits" writer and producer Ethan Drogan. Drogan disclosed he received just $259.61 in residuals last quarter for his episode "Identity Crisis," with the six original writers of the show making less than $3,000 from streaming on two platforms last quarter.
Even as the Writers Guild of America strike ends, the future remains uncertain for the fair compensation for the show's writers, despite the show's history of breaking viewing records.
As a side note, Patrick J. Adams, a star of "Suits," recently apologized for posting throwback photos during the actors' strike. Thus, the show continues to dominate discussions in various arenas, with future developments certain to attract further attention.
