tomb raider and lord of the rings games from amazon soon

Jun 28, 2024 10:03 AM

Amazon has announced developments for new Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings video games, but reveals are still pending. Amazon Games chief Christoph Hartmann emphasized that a reveal is "not too far away". The Tomb Raider game is being developed by Crystal Dynamics, while an untitled The Lord of the Rings MMO is also in the works. Both properties also have related TV series on Amazon Prime, with a live-action Tomb Raider series and The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 2 set to launch soon. Hartmann highlighted the importance of not rushing the games, ensuring they meet triple-A quality standards. This approach aligns with Amazon's strategy of aligning game releases with their TV shows to maximize audience engagement.

When will the new Tomb Raider and The Lord of the Rings games be revealed?

While the exact reveal dates haven’t been announced, Amazon Games chief Christoph Hartmann mentioned that the reveals are "not too far away".

The upcoming Tomb Raider game continues the legacy of one of the most iconic franchises in video gaming. Known for its adventurous gameplay and complex puzzles, Tomb Raider has had a significant impact on the action-adventure genre. The Lord of the Rings MMO, set in the rich world of Middle-earth, aims to capture the epic tales and intricate lore from J.R.R. Tolkien’s celebrated works, following games like "The Lord of the Rings Online" in exploring this vast universe. These games are highly anticipated as they promise to bring immersive experiences that fans of both franchises eagerly await.
