A mysterious countdown that has popped up on the 'Warrior Nun' website has left even the creators of the Netflix show confused. Although it's been hinted that this countdown might relate to the return of the show's protagonist, Ava Silva, the original makers of the series have seemingly been excluded from whatever this announcement might be.

This comes as a surprise since the 'Warrior Nun' series is not slated for revival. The last news was that Ava Silva, the warrior nun known for her battle-ready demeanor, was being lined up for a trilogy of films. This was announced by executive producer Dean English via the same Warrior Nun website.

However, the former 'Warrior Nun' showrunner, Simon Barry, appears to be as baffled as the diehard fans. Barry, who has no involvement with the film trilogy, expressed his ignorance about the upcoming announcement with a response on Twitter. Series writer, Amy Berg, and director, David Hayter, also shared that they were in the dark about the developments.

This unexpected twist has left the 'Warrior Nun' fandom intrigued and craving for more updates. They are yet to find out what the future truly holds for their beloved show and its protagonist, Ava Silva.

IGN, who reached out to the executive producer English for comments, had previously given 'Warrior Nun' a rating of 7/10. Their review praised the series for telling a compelling supernatural adventure story and lauded lead Alba Baptista’s performance in her debut English-speaking role. Despite using a series of familiar tropes, IGN found the Spanish backdrop and character development to bring a refreshing depth to the series.
